Everything You Need to Know About JYPn
JYP’s Newest Kpop Girl Group
We’re back again at another look at an upcoming Kpop girl group that’s causing a lot of buzz this year. And with all that talk, we want to see for ourselves if JYPn has what it takes to make it onto our list of the Top Girl Groups of All Time when they finally debut. JYP Entertainment’s newest girl group is set to debut in February 2022. In the meantime, the seven-girl Kpop group has been given a placeholder name of JYPn. Let’s take a look at JYPn’s timeline so far, and a dive into each of the seven members that make up the group.
Teaser
JYP first teased the introduction of JYPn Kpop group on July 8, 2021 by releasing a teaser titled “Blind Package”. The following day a second teaser was launched, this time with the quote “Your Next Favorite Girl Group”, hinting at the debut of an all-female Kpop group this time. It was confirmed that same day by JYP Entertainment that they are indeed debuting an all-girl KPop group as early as February 2022. Their limited-edition debut single, Blind Package, is set to be sold for only ten days between the period of July 16 to July 25, and will only be sold during this pre-launched period. The package will be given to fans when JYPn Kpop girl group debuts in February 2022.
The Blind Package consists of their limited edition CD, a photo album, posters, a membership access card, polaroids, and more. Within the first week of pre-sale, there were already over 40,000 copies pre-ordered for JYPn’s Blind Package set. By the time pre-sale ended, JYPn’s blind package had already sold over 60,000 copies.
JYPn Members
The member of JYPn Kpop group was introduced slowly one at a time over a period of a few months. On August 6, 2021, the third three members were introduced through a dance cover featured on JYPn’s official Youtube channel. Those three members were Kyujin, Jiwoo and Jinni. A little under a month later Sullyoon, the fourth member, was introduced through a cover of the song Full Moon. On October 8, 2021, Bae was revealed as their fifth member through her cover of Dua Lip’s Break My Heart. The following month Haewon was revealed through her cover of Stepahnie Poetri’s I Love You 3000. Finally, the seventh member, Lily, was released through her cover of Bruno Mar’s Finesse on November 19, 2021. This concluded all the members of JYPn’s group.
Jinni
JPYn Jinnie was one of the first girls revealed for JYP Entertainment’s newest girl group JYPn. She joined JYP Entertainment back in 2016 and since then have made a feature in 2PM Nichkhun’s Music Video, “Lucky Charm”. She was born on April 16, 2004 in Busan, South Korea.
Jiwoo
JYPn Jiwoo was introduced alongside Jinni and Kyujin back in August 2021 for the introduction of the new girl group JYPn. She joined JYP Entertainment in 2018 and was a student at Dastreet Dance. She was born on April 13, 2005 in Namyangu, South Korea.
Kyujin
JYPn Kyujin was the third member to be revealed in JYP Entertainment’s teaser of their newest girl group JYPn. She joined JYP Entertainment in 2018, around the same time Jiwoo did and was a student at Withbill Dance Academy. She was born on May 26, 2006 in South Korea.
Sullyoon
JYPn Sullyoon was the fourth member revealed in JYP Entertainment cover song of “Full Moon”. Interestingly enough, Sullyoon was a former trainee at Woolim Entertainment. She passed the auditions for YG, Fantagio, TS and SM. She was born on January 26, 2004 in Daejeon, South Korea.
Bae
JYPn Bae was the fifth member revealed for the new girl group JYPn. She joined JYP Entertainment in late 2018 after Kyujin and Jiwoo. Since then, she has appeared in JYP Trainee’s Homecoming showcase the year after she joined. She was born on December 28, 2004 in Yangsan, South Korea.
Haewon
JPYn Haewon was the sixth member to be revealed. She was born on February 25, 2003, in Incheon, South Korea and is one of the oldest members of the group. She has been training for a little over 4 years before the debut and can speak both English and Korean.
Lily
JYPn Lily was the final member revealed for JYP Entertainment’s newest girl group. She has been in training the longest, at over 6 years and was initially supposed to debut with ITZY. She can speak English, Korean and a little bit of Japanese. She is the oldest member of the group and was born on October 17, 2002 in Victoria, Australia.
For now, this is all we know about the upcoming Kpop girl group JYPn. We are excited to see what mark they leave on the music industry, and have high hopes after seeing the number they’re breaking already for pre-sale. Will their debut hit record numbers like Aespa did this year? That is something we intend to see when JYPn launches this February 2022.
