Overview

As you know, our weight can fluctuate quite a bit, so it is important to measure for your current size and not what you think is estimated to fit. This is the only way we can ensure there will be no size issues as the charts provided on all product pages are measured by hand and accurate.

Below is our general size chart that we follow, though slimmer-fitting and looser-fitting styles may measure differently due to design differences. We recommend using this size chart as a frame of reference to help you better understand where you fall in between all our available sizes from Small to Extra-Large.

For all measurements, please make sure not to wrap the measuring tape too tightly. It should sit comfortably at the length when you are breathing out and relaxed. Hold the measuring tape in place, with it parallel to the floor to ensure a uniform measurement. Any sagging from the measuring tape from it being held at an angle will ultimately affect your results. We do recommend measuring twice to be sure your number is the same. Our charts will typically feature these measurements:

BUST

The measurement of your chest/bust is used for clothing articles such as our tops and dresses. To ensure you are measuring your bust correctly, take one end of your measuring tape and wrap it around the fullest part of your chest while making sure that the tape is still parallel to the floor. The tape should go under our arm and back out to meet the tip. It is more accurate to measure based on this method than to go by your bra size. As you know, the cup size does not indicate a consistent sizing as the band can differ per person. As a result, we recommend you use this measurement to gauge if a shirt or dress is a good fit. When asking for help on what size would best fit you, please indicate your chest size thought inches/cm and not bra size.

WAIST

The measurement of your waist is used for clothing articles such as our tops, dresses and pants. To find an accurate measurement of your waist, we recommend targeting your ‘natural waist’. This is also known as the narrowest part of your waist. This is typically around the area that is below your rib cages but above your belly button. When measuring your waist, please ensure that you are breathing out when you take down the number. This will help with a more accurate reading as it measures the maximum width you need.

HIP

The measurement of your hip is used for clothing articles such as our bottoms and dresses. To get an accurate measurement for your hips, you will have to stand upright first and foremost. Keep your legs together and take one end of the measuring tape and place it on where you think is the fullest part of your hips. Make sure the measuring take is parallel to the floor and goes over your buttocks. Going over your hip bones, you will now meet the measuring tape back to where it started. This measurement can be tricky when done alone, so we recommend asking a friend to help if this makes it easier for you!

Description

If the Girl Next Door had an alter ego, this top would be her signature top. The Anise Bustier Chain Top is our modern take on the classic bustier we know and love. We took vintage elements such as the fitted bodice and puff sleeves and attempted to recreate it with a modern spin. We incorporated the fitted top by cropping it higher, and shortened the puff sleeve to a modern T-Shirt length which wraps snugly around the arm. Anise is created with a dropped sweetheart neckline style, which tends to flatter most body types. The revamp of this style still plays on the feminine nature of the bustier, but was redesigned for a more flirtatious and cheeky look. The top is silky smooth and comfortable to the touch as it is made from a combination of Polyester and Spandex. The Anise Bustier Top also features a zip-up detail that is found directly in the middle of the top. This zipper also comes attached to a chain that hangs from one side of the bustier. Note that the chain is detachable and can be found in a separate baggie that comes with Anise. It is your choice to add it on or leave it off. This top is such a staple to have in your closet for those days you’re looking to dress up and look extra girly (while still staying true to our mostly black closet).

Mix and Match
Our Anise Bustier Chain Crop Top is such a delicate piece that it will surely bring forth femininity in any outfit or piece you choose to match this top with. Our favorite way to dress up this top and give yourself a sultry street wear look is to match it with our Salt n’ Pepper Plaid Suspender Skirt. The bold plaid print will pair nice against the silky black fabric of Anise, and bring a pop to your outfit. Our Mangosteen Pocket Strap Skirt would also pair perfectly with this top, as both pieces feature dark fabric with metallic details to complement one another.

Cute top!

The top is super cute, but the zipper isn't super strong and if you're a little on the bustier side you might want to reconsider or go a size up. I'm a US 36B and got a large and the zipper keeps falling halfway when I put the top on, but I'm ok with that because it doesn't go any lower then that for me. The arms are also a little small if you have big arms like me but they're stretchy so it's not too bad.

Absolutely adore the top

I really love this top it’s simple but the chain adds everything to this look. It is a bit tight around the shoulders so I suggest getting a size up. But other than that it’s an amazing look.

Cut small

This was my very first crop top order and although I measured for my size, it was still small. I had a hard time keeping it zipped and the sleeves do not stay on my shoulders. However, its still a cute look. I will just order a medium next time!

Flattering fit

For a girl who doesn’t have boobs, this sure does make me look like I do! I’m a 32B and I paired it with a push-up bra and wowza. Would absolutely recommend.

Edgy and Cute

I wanted to switch up my wardrobe a bit so I tried this top. It works so well with other items in my closet. I ordered a size M, and it fit super well. Material is well made, no loose threads, and is also soft.

Cute top!

This is such a cute top! The material is super stretchy and the chain detail can be removed when you need to put the top in the wash.

Flattering, even if slightly too big

I bought a small. I’m a tiny girl, about 30 in bust and 22 in waist, so it’s slightly loose. But still flattering! Enough that I’d recommend it. Hot girl outfit. Slides off the shoulders a little. I don’t need to wear a bra with it. You might feel self-conscious if you don’t like midriff, though. It’s like a mega midriff.
