We’re here to remind you that basic doesn’t have to mean boring. Oftentimes, we find that essential pieces are made to look far too plain and toned down. Why can’t we elevate our basics to include designs and styles that are trendy, while having a piece casual enough to still be considered a basic? This is what we tried to do with our Assam Cut-Out Zipper Detail T-Shirt. At the very base of it, Assam is your average fitted T-shirt that every girl needs in her closet. It’s an essential piece that was made to go with literally anything, something so versatile that you could grab and incorporate into any outfit. The simple black fitted T-shirt design is flattering for all body types. We decided to elevate the simple T-shirt by adding certain hardware elements to give it a streetwear edge and some eye-catching detail while remaining muted and subtle. The top is cut asymmetrically from the front and backside, pointing down towards a V-like shape. This purposeful cut is meant to accentuate one’s figure by giving the illusion of a smaller waist through the tapering of the bottom. One side features a cut-out strap detail that loops to the back of the top - a slick but subtle element of streetwear edge that gives the top a little more detail. Lastly, the top also features a functional zipper found on one side of the shoulder. Assam can be worn with the zipper done or undone, depending on the look you’re going for.
Mix and Match
While there is an endless combination of pieces you can mix and match with Assam, our cut-out zipper T-shirt, there are a few pieces that we would highly recommend pairing with to get the ultimate result. One of the best matches made in heaven would be Assam with our Viola Pleather Belt Zipper Pants. This black-on-black duo simply works through the different textures to make a subtle statement. The pop of metallic hardware found in the zipper on both the top and bottom really gives that edgy streetwear pop to an otherwise muted and low-key outfit. The play on the monochromatic color scheme and acid wash bottoms really get a hard edge to your overall outfit.
